Q&A

Your work in five words or less?
Bold, Sexy, Retro, Rugged, Raw

Turn Ons?
Im obsessed with the old Americana aesthetic even though I’m British, I think there is something so gritty and alluring to it. Anything super rugged with a very queer undertone also really gets me inspired, like a blue collar working man with great arms but bit of a beer gut with a jock strap on under his ripped jeans!

Turn Offs?
Anything too cultivated is a turn off for me from somewhere with a pretentious undertone to someone who has trimmed their beard to perfection.

Favorite Video Game?
Even though I’m not a super big gamer, Tomb Raider was an absolute obsession for me for years when I was growing up, not the game in particular but Lara Croft! Looking back I think I was able to idolise a woman without any of my family clocking I was queer!

Favorite non-art pastime?
Being outdoors, I live by a beach now which I spend a lot of my spare time at and at least 4-6 times a year me and my husband like to get an air bnb in a secluded wooded area with the dogs and take long hikes—which usually end up at a pub!

Art Crush?
Far too many to name here from social media but my first ever was Glen Hanson, I came across his work in my early teens googling gay art and his work is so colorful, bold and sexy I was completely enamored! He has the greatest skill at drawing an incredible likeness to famous pop icons with smile shapes that blow my mind!.

Personal Crayon Color?
Used Jock Gray
When a jock strap has been used again and again for “sessions” sports, or otherwise, and the white has faded into a light gray! I picked this because I use a lot of natural tones in my work and a lot of the guys I draw tend to wear jocks in my “safer for work” art, the muskier the better.

Why make art?
From an early age it was the only thing that I loved, the only thing I was truly good at. I make it now as an ode to queer sexuality and visibility. In many art circles I have kind of been shunned as on the surface a lot of it seems very superficial but the true purpose has always been to champion queer sexuality and sex is a huge very integral part of life.

What's next?
I’ve been working on limited edition print drops which are always in the works, as I’ve been doing this freelance now for ten years my focus has switched from merchandise to collectible art that people can keep and display for years to come. The idea of someone asking a host where they got “that print” from and sparking a conversation makes me so happy!
